to tell you a little bit of what is involved. the difference is in the california building code. i can also give you tips on how to choose and specter appeared first of all, the program has an inspector's knowledge of the california building code, and the reason why that is so important is because you have to comply with both. the california billing code is enforced when you get a building permit, and forced by the local building requirements. it says all new buildings have to be totally accessible. it also says that new buildings when you do an alteration course have to be accessible when you do a project. there's a big difference between a big project and a little project. a big project is going to be not as accessible as a new building, but a smaller project actually has a smaller level of access required in the california building code. you might think that because you got a building permit that that means that everything is good and you are complying with the ada, but it is actually the difference in the building code because its is even if you have an existing building and have n

focused, everyone. >> yes. good morning. yesterday in california was where some of the worst weather in the country was. we had a couple of tornadoes. some of those were near the sack kra men tow areas. by california standards it did get everyone's attention. the other thing we have to worry about as we go through the next 48 hours is what's going to happen down in the caribbean. we are watching tropical storm sandy. this one is heading north wards. jamaica, cuba, then the central bahamas. this storm tracks not all that far away from florida. we're not expecting a direct impact. with the uncertainty coming this close to florida, we should see rip current, large waves on the east coast beaches. then the storm is off to the east coast sometime sunday into monday. where is the storm heading after that? a lot of questions. this high pressure is going to block it. it's not going to easily head out to sea. it's a race between the cool air and cold air. this could get sucked up to the north. we haven't ruled out new england impacts and the canadian maritimes. there's not a lot of bad weathe

seen quite a bit of rain fall on/off and some severe weather in northern california. this funnel cloud was spotted and sacramento. and also it looks like it is touching down. it looks like an actual tornado. people are snapping photographs of this as it moves north. it was touching down and letting up and touching down. right now, the rotation is still evident on the radar. as we take a look at the satellite and radar. you can see it in the north near auburn. a lightning strikes and still rotation with a 20 awarding still in effect for this area. with a-tornado warning still in effect for that area. even rainfall beginning in the north bay but there are dry conditions south of the golden gate. rainfall heavy near hillsborough. and santa rosa, and also out near the north bay coast. the rainfall totals so far in the last 24 hours have favored santa rosa with over one-inch. and in the last 24 hours, san francisco has seen one-third. one half of rainfall in oakland and concord, also one-third of rainfall. as we take a look at the satellite and writer we do see that rainfall for northern ca
